Our Mandate and Core Values

Our Mandate

The mandate of Gateway Parish is derived from the Holy Scriptures and the P.C.E.A. Practice and Procedure Manual. In brief, the functions, duties and authority of the Parish are to build up spiritual life in the Parish and promote witness of Jesus Christ to the world while maintaining the constitution and traditions of the PCEA.

"To glorify God through propagation of the Gospel; enhancing fellowship and spiritual growth among members and the community''

We will do this through;

• Cultivating common beliefs
• Positive community interaction.
• Building the necessary structures, skills and resources.
• Enhancing our financial capacity to meet our ministry and pastoral commitment.

Core Values

Values give us conduct principles in pursuit of our vision and in fulfillment of our mission. These are the elements we hold dear:

• Bible based faith -  This is in recognition of the Lordship of Jesus Christ. 0ur lives and all our actions shall be guided by the teachings of the Bible.
• Prayer centered - We recognize that nothing can be done or achieved in any other way apart from prayer to our God
• Caring -  This encompasses love for all, teamwork and motivation of workers. In all our thoughts and actions, we will think and act in consideration of others
• Christian fellowship - This takes into consideration strategic alliances and faith building. A Christian can only grow and be a valuable person of God through Christian fellowship. We will maintain unity and oneness of mind in all we do.
• Accountability to God and man - This includes integrity and transparency. All people are accountable and responsible for their actions and must answer to God and man for all they do.
