The Gateway Brigade Company was well represented on 28th March 2010 during the subdivision of Githurai Parish into four namely Gateway, Zimmerman, Thome & New Githurai. Consequently they held their first meeting on 18th July 2010 with the following agendas:
The Company has continued to mount parades in honour of our guests e.g. Induction Ceremonies for Ministers, Ground Breaking ceremony for Gateway Faith Project in 2009, Licensing Ceremony for Rev. Stella Nyamweya, Dedication of new sanctuary & Retirement Ceremony for Rev. Kenyanjui in December 2012.
The Officers created a duty roster for teaching the children whereby they meet every Saturday from 4pm to 5.30 pm. The children are taught on various activities i.e. Cookery, knitting, embroidery, washing, ironing, sewing, understanding opposite sex & Christian education.
They attend Presbyterial Camps and observe their week and Sunday well with various presentations since 2010. They also have T-shirts for both Boys & Girls with their mottos printed. They raise funds for their kitty by planting and selling dania & also had a jobs corner project which was quite successful.
